Timmy was a boy who loved to play outside. One day, he got a new pair of shoes. They were bright red and very shiny.
When Timmy put on the shoes, something strange happened.
“Hello, Timmy!” said the left shoe.
Timmy jumped. “Who said that?”
“I did!” said the right shoe. “We are your new talking shoes!”
Timmy laughed. “Talking shoes? That’s funny!”
“Yes! We can talk, sing, and even tell jokes,” said the left shoe.
Timmy smiled. “Tell me a joke!”
The shoes thought for a moment.
“Why did the shoe go to school?” asked the right shoe.
“Why?” Timmy asked.
“To learn how to tie the laces!” the shoes said together. Timmy laughed very loudly.
Timmy wore the shoes to the park. When he walked, the shoes whispered, “Step left, step right!” and sang silly songs.
Suddenly, Timmy’s shoes started to dance! They made him spin and jump.
People at the park laughed and clapped.
Then, the shoes said, “Let’s have a race!”
Timmy ran as fast as he could. The shoes made funny sounds, like “Boing! Boing!” and “Zoom! Zoom!”
At the finish line, Timmy was tired but happy.
“Thank you, talking shoes,” he said.
“We’re happy to make you smile,” they said.
From that day, Timmy and his talking shoes had many fun adventures. And Timmy never forgot to laugh every day.
