Sara is 15 years old. She loves to sing. Every day, she sings at home. But Sara is very shy. She never sings in front of others. She is afraid people will laugh.
One day, her school announces a singing contest. Sara wants to join, but she feels scared. “What if I make a mistake?” she thinks.
Her best friend, Tom, says, “Sara, you have a beautiful voice. You must try. I will help you.”
Sara smiles and says, “Thank you, Tom. I will practice.”
Every day after school, Sara and Tom practice. Tom listens and gives her tips. Sara feels better and better.
The contest day comes. Sara’s heart beats fast. She feels nervous. But Tom says, “I’m here. You can do it.”
Sara walks to the stage. The lights are bright. Many people watch her. She takes a deep breath and starts to sing.
At first, her voice is soft. Then it becomes strong and clear. Everyone listens quietly. Sara feels happy inside.
When she finishes, people clap loudly. Sara smiles. She did it!
Later, the teacher says, “Sara, you were wonderful. You are brave.”
Sara feels proud. She says, “I learned that fear is normal, but trying is important.”
Sara knows now: If she works hard and believes in herself, she can reach her dreams.
