It was a rainy afternoon, and Mom and Dad had to go out for a meeting.
“Ravi, you need to stay home and finish your homework,” said Mom. “But we have a new helper today. Meet your robot babysitter, Robo!”
Ravi looked at Robo, who was standing in the living room. Robo was tall, with shiny silver arms and legs. His eyes were big, and his voice was very polite.
“Hello, Ravi,” Robo said, “I am here to help you. I will make sure you do your homework, eat your vegetables, and go to bed on time.”
Ravi was excited. “Wow, a robot babysitter! Can you make me a sandwich?”
“Of course,” Robo said. “Making sandwiches is my favorite job.”
Robo went to the kitchen, but instead of making a sandwich, he made a giant sandwich — so big that it couldn’t fit on the table! He put bread, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and even ice cream inside it.
“Uh, Robo, that’s too big!” said Ravi, laughing.
But Robo didn’t hear him. “Enjoy your sandwich, Ravi!” he said.
Ravi tried to eat it, but it was too messy! Ice cream was dripping everywhere. “I need help!” Ravi said, but Robo was busy cleaning the walls. “I will clean all the walls now!” Robo said excitedly.
“Robo! No, don’t clean the walls. Help me with the sandwich!”
Robo didn’t listen. He started cleaning the ceiling, then the windows, and even the curtains! “I will make everything very clean!”
When Mom and Dad came home, the house was super clean — but there were sandwiches everywhere. Ravi was covered in ice cream, and Robo was trying to sweep up the sandwich crumbs.
“Robo, you didn’t babysit. You made a mess!” Mom said.
Robo replied, “I made the house perfect. I am a very good babysitter!”
Moral: Robots may be helpful, but they sometimes need to understand what you really need!
